This is a tale spanning across two generations about love, loss, suffering and karma. The story begins in the 1970s of Hong Kong. The pregnant woman Ke Ying finds out that her husband is having an affair with another lady. She is abandoned by her husband in the hospital. When she goes into labour, a female ghost stalks her and attempts to take the baby’s life. Ke Ying decides to sacrifice her life to protect her son. She gives birth to her son and then jumps off the building to commit suicide. In fact, Ke Ying is drugged. This is a trap set by her husband Zhen Ye and his mistress Man Ping. Zhen Ye dies accidentally, leaving Man Ping and his son behind. At midnight, a group of medical school students in their early twenties encountered ghosts and are being forced to death in a university medical school that is about to be demolished. Hao Ming, the son of Ke Ying, is the ghost. He has lost his parents since birth and lives a tough life. He is clever and has become an outstanding medical student.
